Robert Pershing Wadlow

Without a doubt, the person I look up to most in life would be Robert Wadlow. Also known as  Alton Giant or Giant of Illinois. He was born on February 22, 1918 and passed on July 15, 1940. He died at a very young age, he was only 22. He was born in Alton, Illinois,United States and was the son of Harold Franklin Wadlow and Addie Johnson. Eighteen days before Robert passed he was measured at 8 ft 11.1 and weighed 485 lb. Surprisingly he showed no indication of his growth stopping even at the time of his death. This abnormal growth was caused by hypertrophy of his pituitary gland. As Robert aged his size began to take a toll on him. He needed leg braces to walk, and had slight feeling in his legs and feet. Even with all these disabilities he still was never confined to a wheelchair. Robert was also a very famous man, he  went on tour with the Ringling Brothers Circus in 1936 and also went on a promotional tour with the INTERCO. Death was a subject that was never even a factor in the mix of his problems. He died during a professional appearance at the Manistee National Forest Festival from anything but the obvious. A faulty brace irritated his ankle, causing a blister which made a subsequent infection. Doctors treated him with a blood transfusion and emergency surgery, but his condition eventually worsened and he passed away on July 15, 1940. At his funeral there was an estimated 40,000 people and he was buried in a 10 foot half ton casket.

The Real Ryan Pinkowski

Ryan Pinkowski, a man of many disguises. To Alden High School he is just an average boy. But outside of school, he’s a time crunching maniac. On top of the stress of High School and homework he somehow fits in the time to roam the streets of downtown buffalo late at night and take in hobos. He drives his moms minivan around late at night and and persuades them into getting in with him. He offers whopping quantities of candy and if that doesn't get then in, he offers a ride to Mexico. Little do they know, he is really a psychopathic maniac and has the need to harbor hobos in his basement. It sounds like a simple job, but believe me, it’s not. I have one reliable source who has told me about many of his evil doings. Surprisingly, it is one of his best friends. Now obviously pinkey would NEVER think of telling anybody about his odd fatuation. But his friend was told from one person, and that was pinkey. You easily just give him massive amounts of cottage cheese and it puts him out like a light. Cottage cheese puts Pinkey into some kind of trance. A trance that allows him to sleep, but yet still talk and respond to common questions. You might say, it’s his Kryptonite. As Pinkey fell asleep he started babbling on about secrets, my source claims. “So I played along with him” he says. “He started going on about his secret hobby that no one knows about and I simply replied, what ?” And that's when everything was revealed. Now obviously this has been a well kept secret for many months, but I do believe its time everybody knows The Real Ryan Pinkowski. And that's why I'm blogging it. Spread the word.

Is Nate Bailey really a "boss" ?

Is Nate Bailey really  a “boss” ? A commonly asked question by many people. Urban Dictionary states the definition of a “boss” as noun-a person who is a leader, someone who runs things in his/her hood or city. Does Nate run a city or hood !? I do not believe so.  Adding to one of Nates comments on his blog, “You also have to be able to get money, and by money I mean a lot of it. Money must be falling out of your drawers basically.”  Unless you got more than $100 G's in the bank and are stackin paper every day, more than likely you are not a Boss. Also says Urban Dictionary. Commenting on another one of Nates statements from his blog, “Nate Bailey is the boss and no one can top his boss-like qualities.” I believe that statement is as far from the truth as you could possibly get. Barack Obama could easily top his “boss-like qualities,” seeing he is the president of the United States Of America, compared to Nates high school status. So by now I hope you can make your assumptions by now on my opinion. I also believe the term “boss” is utterly reticules and misused in Nates case. In conclusion, I do not believe Nate Bailey is a “boss.”
Nuff’said.

Best Class Ever !

Without a doubt 8th grade art had to be my favorite class ever ! Between my amazing teacher Mrs. Kersten and the awesome friends that surrounded me, it was just a blast. I never knew how many memories could be made in just one half year course. Either it was exploding paint onto the ceiling, getting my Times Square Mandala getting selected for the superintendents permanent art collection, big mac making or just getting made fun by Mrs. Kersten for my “oxygen tank” that just made that class so amazing. She was just one of the best teacher I know. She makes a class fun and enjoyable when still keeping it a learning environment. Now let me explain about the paint on the ceiling. One day we were making our glass window displays with a gel constancy paint. When my friend Meghan Snyder asks me to see if I could get her paint tube un-clogged. Of course, me being the awesome friend I am, went at it and tyred my best. Well this clog just wasn't coming out. So I just squeezed and squeezed, not realizing the possible outcome. I think you can all guess what happens next. The paint tube erupted like a volcano straight at the ceiling and then misted everyone at my table, their artwork and Mrs. Kersten’s desk. Now moving on to when I got to except my artwork in front of the whole town board at one of the meetings. Like I had mentioned before, my mandala had gotten chose for the superintendents permanent art collection. I was invited to a bored meeting to except my award and listen to her speech. And wouldn’t you know, in her speech she makes a whole section dedicated to the splatter painting on her ceiling. Embarrassing moment of my life. She had everyone roaring with laughter, and me on the other hand. I was beet red and ready to leave. But those are just one of the many amazing memories created in Mrs. Kersten’s 8th grade art class.

Favorite Meal Ever !

What is your favorite meal ever ? A simple question for many. But for me, no not at all. I have been thinking for two days now, what is my favorite food. See, I like food. I really like food. I like food so much, I eat about 6 meals a day. Breakfast, lunch and dinner. Then I have at least 3 or more snacks in between all of this. How I don't weigh about 300lbs by now, I really don’t know. Truthfully I really think my favorite meal would have to be Shrimp with Angel Hair. But it can only be from one place, and that is The Cheesecake Factory. “In Albany.” I have had it from our buffalo location. And let me tell you, it is nothing but a disaster. I really don't know how their could be that much of a difference, but there is. Maybe it’s the way the shrimp is Sautéed ? Or even the amount of herbs added. This dish is just a bowel of heaven send down from god to us. It consists of Large Shrimp Sautéed with Herbs, Lemon and Garlic Combined with Angel Hair Pasta, Tomato and Fresh Basil. And to top the night off, you have to get Chris' Outrageous Chocolate Cake. This by far is the reason chocolate was invented. For this dish and this dish only. Now this mouth watering dish consists of Layers of Moist Chocolate Cake, Chewy Brownie, Toasted Coconut-Pecan Frosting and Creamy Chocolate Chip Coconut Cheesecake. Is your mouth watering ? Because I know mine is, now that by far is my favorite meal EVER !

Joy Ride

This is definitely the prefect example of my favorite kind of movie. It is the most suspenseful film I believe I have ever saw in my whole life. I was on the edge of my seat the entire time. Paul Walker is the main character along with Steve Zahn. They are two brothers who have both lost their parents and now only have each other. Paul decides to go on a road trip to New Jersey to see his best friend Venna who he recently decided he had feelings for. And eventually runs into a couple problems. He gets a call to come bail his brother out of jail and his brother gets them into a massive amount of trouble. they end up getting terrorized by a psychotic killer. Desson Howe of The Washington Post states “WHAT STARTS as a boyish lark over a CB radio becomes a real nightmare in "Joy Ride," John Dahl's palm-sweaty exercise in suspense and terror. Climb into this rig and you'll be sweating bullets, along with the poor fools who make the mistake of annoying a guy with the CB handle of Rusty Nail.”

Paranormal Activity

This low budget, home made movie has to definitely be one of my favorites. Seeing the previews when it first come out gave you chills down your back. It was a massive uproar for all my friends and I to get to the theaters ASAP to see it. Whale watching it, about half way through a total of 4 people had got up and left. One a guy and he left because he through up. And the others were 3 women and they were all crying and ran out. But my friends and I, we stayed until the very ending. Even though they were only on an 11,000 dollar budget, They managed to make a whopping 77,873 dollars on the opening weekend. USA Today critic Claudia Puig quotes “This unsettling ultra-low-budget tale capitalizes on our innate fear of things that go bump in the night, and adds a supernatural element that will effectively terrorize even the toughest among us.” In my opinion, I think everyone got a little too worked up over this movie because overall it wasn't as scary as the previews made out it to be. But I defiantly will make sure I'm one of the first people in line to go see The sequel.
21
I choose this as my favorite movie because its almost everything I look for in a good movie. My favorite movies all have to be either horror / suspense or a good comedy. This particular movie falls under the suspense column. It is one of my favorite movies because it actually motivated me to do something. After watching this movie it really made me want to go out and learn black jack to a higher degree then I already know. Seeing all the possibilities that could become if you really were able to become an expert player made me want to get up right then and there and learn. It starts off with a few elite students (Ben) and there college professor all in a group learning how to “count cards” with I must say is illegal. But they decide to take in a new student and teach him the “ins and outs” of counting cards. Eventually he gets good and the group goes to Vegas every single weekend and hits up all the casinos. Ben, in time makes over 200.000 and just enough to go to medical school. Although many other problems follow and things don't exactly work out as planned. But just seeing the rush of the players just makes me want to be in their seat at the moment. And I will do my best to make it to their positions someday and hopefully lose a couple of their complications.

Favorite Season

Without a doubt I can tell you my favorite season is winter ! Between the numerous things you can do outside and school closings its all just a blast. We usually go sledding down a gigantic hill behind our house or when we get bored with that, we hook up the sleds to the quads and pull each other around. Or even go snow boarding in the trails that our neighbors own. We always have something to do. Then school closings, those are the best. You wake up on a cold snowy morning and just as your about to get ready you look at the news and it says “Alden Central Schools Closed” that's the best feeling . You get to go back to bed and sleep in than when you wake up you get to go outside and do everything you couldn't do until you got out of school. There’s just something I love about the cold weather. Maybe just because I don't like the heat. But my theory is, if its cold there has to be snow. Its pointless to have cold weather for nothing. At least if its hot, you get the sun and that I like. Therefore if its cold, there has to be snow. Or its just absolutely pointless. Overall if could have one season all year round, it would definitely be winter.

Vacation !

Recently I went on a vacation to Albany, we went for the weekend and it was absolutely amazing. I went with my guardian, her son, my girlfriends mom, my girlfriend and me. My girlfriends mom Christene and my guardian Amy were best friends all there liefs. So when Christene had to make a weekend business trip with the company car and the company credit card, we were all in. It was a four hour trip and it was Kyle, my guardians son, my girlfriend, Chelsey and me all in the back seat all the way there and back. When we were there we visited the mall, the Saratoga Horse Races, the Tom Petty concert and numerous different restaurants. It was just a relaxing weekend away from home as I took it. most of the time, Kyle, Chelsey and me went off and did out own thing in the hotel and luckily we were in walking distance of a lot of things. It was very relaxing because in Albany, you knew nobody besides yourselves. You didn't know anyone and didn't have to worry about what they thought about you. Which sounds weird, but its really true. But overall it was a very relaxing and fun filled weekend. And I would do it again anytime.
