Fear, something we all have. Many deny they have it, but each and every one of us has at least one thing we fear in life. Life is a sketchy thing, there are ups and downs and most of us fear the downs weather you want to admit it or not. So Mr. Currin, I really do not want to do this blog. Like really ? Where do you come up with this stuff ? “Fear builds walls” what’s up with that. It’s pretty self-explanatory therefore I feel no reason to blog about what it means. But really how do you come up with these blogs you assign us ? Especially ones like this. Is this what you do in your free time ? If so I really believe you need a good hobby because blogs like this are absolutely pointless. So I really don’t know if I am going to be able to make the 300 word count. But maybe I’ll whine some more. What a weird saying. How do fear and walls relate ? Fear, walls, fear, walls. Huh. Miranda thinks this blog is really mean. I don’t know why ? Maybe the hobby part. But who knows. It wasn’t meant to be offensive. Just saying. You know what I fear ! going in the basement after a good scary movie. Like I have no problem with the basement any other time, but after a scary movie that just draws the line. Maybe because all horror movies have something usually going on in the basement. Okay bye.

What is winning? What does winning mean to you? What does it mean to be a winner?
Winning is a very important thing to some people. In often cases it is way too important and becomes overwhelming and ridicules. Sometimes with the obsession with winning cockeyness fallows along and can really aggravating at times. We have a few prime examples in this school, (not naming names.) Don’t get me wrong now, winning is a fun thing and can really boost your ego and self-esteem. But when you get to the point where your ego can’t get any bigger that’s just enough. The obnoxiously large dictionary Mr. Curren is making me use states: Winning 1. Successful; victorious 2.charming a winning personality 1.the act of one who wins; victory that which has been won. Especially money; a section on a mine that has been opened for working. Now what I can decipher from this ancient pile of papers is that winning means to be successful at accomplishing something. In my opinion winning means to participate and have fun when doing so. I don’t think winning is everything when playing a sport. We all know at the moment that is the only thing that matters but after the fact I think we all really need to step back and think about what winning really and truly means to each and every one of us.

My Favorite Holiday

My Favorite Holiday
Out of all 60 holidays I really don’t think I could pick one. There are just so many and it also really depends on the season. My favorite season is winter therefore my favorite holiday should be Christmas but honestly it’s not. If I was to pick one I think it would have to be between Easter and New years. I think Easter because I really like the whole bunny theory and also getting a basket full of candy. When I was little Easter was without a doubt my favorite holiday. My family went as far as putting baby powder on the bottom of a big rabbits foot and making paw prints all over the house. Now try explaining that to your kids that the prints were all fake and the bunny never really hopped around your house delivering baskets of chocolate. But back to the topic, hat was one of my favorite holidays until I found out the Easter bunny was not real. Now New years on the other hand is an enjoyable day of my life. Please note I said enjoyable day of my life, not favorite holiday. I enjoy all the food and festivities we embark in when preparing for the ball to drop.  But other than those two I really do not have a favorite holiday.

People are like stained-glass windows. They sparkle and shine when the sun is out, but when the darkness sets in, their true beauty is revealed only if there is a light from within.
- Elizabeth Kubler Ross

Do not allow yourself to get hung up on things that have already happened, or worry about about things that may happen. Concentrate on what your are shooting for right now and everything else will take care of itself.

Out to Lunch !

If I could have lunch with any three people in the world I think they would most defiantly be the three musketeers. I would ask them numerous questions about their journey and such. I would also ask then one question that I have always wanted to know an answer to. Why did they make such a revolting candy bar named after them ?! Like really, come on now. you cant tell me you never wanted to know how that came upon. Does a candy bar really have anything to do with 3 men ? I do not believe so ? Were the men that gross that they made a candy bar to represent them ?

Respect

What is respect, I think Aretha Franklin would know better then I would. I believe she would give you a better blog response Mr. Currin. She quotes I get tired (just a little bit) Keep on tryin' (just a little bit) You're runnin' out of foolin' (just a little bit) And I ain't lyin' (just a little bit) (re, re, re, re) 'spect When you come home (re, re, re ,re) Or you might walk in (respect, just a little bit) And find out I'm gone (just a little bit) I got to have (just a little bit) A little respect (just a little bit). Now obviously she wants a man who is going to respect her. And from what I can dissiefer from this is that her man was “runnin' out of foolin'” and she just couldn't deal with it any more. Now that quote could have many meanings behind it. My first idea of it would be that he was going out and “foolin’” around. If you know what I mean. Or it could just mean he was “foolin’” her with all of his lies and dishonesty. No one will ever know besides Aretha.

Thanksgiving fun...

Thanksgiving is usually a holiday that many families look forward to. Between the “family bonding” and the good food, its suppose to be a good time for all. Well not with my family, don't get me wrong. The food is always good, in my opinion. I do enjoy the mass quantities of turkey, gravy, stuffing, green been casserole, corn, mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce and gherkins and home made rolls. But having to deal with everyone and there child like attitudes is just sometime not worth it. And yes I did say child like attitudes coming from a 14 year old. My uncle Bill is 72, my aunt Norene is 68, my uncle Ron is 65, my aunt Linda is 62, my uncle Kenny is 59, my mom was 52 and my aunt Janis is 49. Now you would all think that everyone being as old as they are would be civilized and keep their comments and suggestions to themselves. But sadly not, its like a middle school lunch. Each and everyone has their own type of personality and they are sure as h*** not afraid to show it. Bill is a smoker, and when I say smoker I mean a smoker. I would estimate he smokes about 2 or 3 packs a day. Attractive huh ? Norene is a control freak with only the best of everything and nothing of the less. Ron is a trucker and always thinks he is right. He will talk and talk for hours on end until you agree with him that he is right. Linda is just Linda. I really don't know what to say, she is just as naive and clueless as they come. Kenny is honestly the smartest of the family, he eats his food and leaves. He knows the family and exactly how they all are. Now my aunt Janis, oh god. Shes a winner, nuff said. Putting them all in the room together is just never a god idea. So the task was to write a blog on how your family spends thanksgiving, well here it is. My family spends thanksgiving running out the door for a smoke, making nasty comments about the food, talking behind someones back, talking about how good their kids are, talking about large purchases and how nice they are and the occasional family member getting mad enough and just walking out int he middle of eating. Happy Thanksgiving !

My Dream Job

My honest dream job would probably have to be a pediatrician. I hope to be headed in the direction of the medical field after high school. I chose the medical field because a lot of the other fields will eventually die down and become less popular. At least in the medical field you know people are always going to get hurt of need to go to the hospital. Therefore the medical field will always be a good direction to head in. I plan on being an EMT and eventually possibly move up to a pediatrician. One because I have always been interested in child care and most of all, I just hate seeing children hurt and would absolutely love to help them. I'm going to have to go through many training courses to get to the EMT level. Than after I get there I would eventually like to get 4 years in college to get bachelor's degree in (pre-med). I would also need 4 years of medical school and at least three years of an internship and residency to become a starting pediatrician. But I think it’s all worth it in the long run because the average starting salary for primary care physicians is about $120-130,000, and up to $150-200,000 after three years. Also helping kids for a living doesn't even seem like a job to me. It just seems like something I would look forward to every morning. And if this is going to be my dream job I think I would want it ti be something I enjoy.
